If there be among you a poor man of one of thy brethren within any of thy gates in thy land which Yahweh thy Elohim giveth thee, thou shalt not harden thine heart, nor shut thine hand from thy

poor brother,

Yahweh’s People in India and Myanmar

Myanmar, formerly called Burma, is a little known or talked about Asian country just east of the northeastern tip of India.  However, it was just recently in the news, due to the 400,000 marching monks who staged protests against their government for not allowing democracy to rule. Their uprising was seen back as early as 1988 in which thousands had been killed by the Junta government forces that decided to quench such protests.  Junta is still in power, and has been since the early ‘60s. Thankfully, only a few people (a dozen or so)  had been killed this time around.

With the use of the Internet and Google Earth, one can see the dense population and pagan temples, (pagodas, as they’re called)  in erected positions and completely covered with glistening gold around the metropolitan areas. Many flock to these in worship to their deities.

The Burmese language dominates the area, with English not being readily read or spoken by most. Interestingly enough, Yahweh is at work with a few in this area who have come to the knowledge of the true Names of Yahweh and Yahshua, keeping the biblical Feasts, and not walking after the idol worship that surrounds them.

It is sin to despise one’s neighbors; blessed are those who help the poor.

Indian Brethren Involved

Over the past 40 years there was some initial contact by the brethren in India, evidently through travels and outreach to other areas, which led to the initial baptisms and ordinations within Myanmar. India has itself seen growth in various areas, as well, over the last few decades.

There are nearly a dozen elders and many more deacons in at least 10 different locations located throughout the country, that believe as we do.

India has an emerging economy with great potential within the Asian countries.  Will more outreach and growth occur? It can certainly help raising the children up the way they should go, so when they are older they won’t depart from it, as Scripture says.

There are funds needed for children to be schooled in the truth of Yahweh’s Word. This can be done in India, and in Myanmar, not to mention other areas where poverty is still a challenge to overcome. Yet, these brethren are doing the best they can with what little they have to promote Yahweh’s truth to others around them.

Live on a Dollar a Day?

It’s hard to believe for us in America or Great Britain, but many people around the world do not live on much more than a dollar a day. This is the situation we see with those both in India and Myanmar. In India a working adult can expect to make $640 a year according to the Pocket World in Figures (2007 edition), by The Economist.

However, Time magazine had an article in their October 22, 2007 edition that stated, “Burma has a grave and worsening crises. Half of Asia’s malaria deaths occur here; a third of the children under 5 years old are malnourished; most of the people live on less than a dollar a day.”

In America the average income is said to be $39,430, per person. Many of us actually don’t make that in a year, even

with two working in the family, but the fact is, we have much more than many in the world.  The following Scripture comes to mind:  “…For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required…,” Luke 12:48.

Though this Scripture is related to judgment, we must think in terms of what we are to do with the wealth that Yahweh gives us. For Scripture also says, “If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has no pity on him, how can the love of Yahweh be in him?  Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth,” John 3:17-18 NIV.

Reaching Out w/ Yahweh’s Word

After giving thought to the situation in Myanmar, and knowing that most there read Burmese, rather than English, it seems appropriate to seek a translator who can translate some of the literature we already have into their language.  There are postage and other printing costs involved with such things.  We believe, though,  that it is a worthwhile endeavor to focus on these and other translations for those that would otherwise not be able to hear or know the truth. It places good outreach tools in the hands of brethren who can then share them. There is a domino effect that can be seen with such outreach.

The classes teaching biblical truths to orphans and other children in India, for example,  is also another worth while cause which can have repetitive and positive effects, but without the funds coming in for these projects, they will have to go ahead with limited means.

Will you consider donating to the YAIY Outreach Fund, so that the brethren asking for help to promote Yahweh’s Word may receive it? What better way to serve Yahweh than by helping the very brethren who are asking.

Please help to reach out  to others. Make your contribution to “YAIY OUTREACH.” This is above regular tithes and offerings. The basic tithes and offerings at this time are only enough to facilitate normal operations at the Assembly. Please pray for Yahweh’s will to be done. Your support is appreciated!

Improved Sound
There’s a new and improved sound coming from the YAIY musicians and singers these days. Existing monitors and amp have been put in-line to help.  Along with that, Brother Ralph Spruill is bringing his guitar talent forward to honor Yahweh. With Ralph playing guitar, it frees up Elder John Fisher to use his violin which adds a another dimension to the music.

DVD and CD Ministry

Sabbath services are still being recorded and are available free of charge for anyone wanting them. Please feel free to contact us to be put on the regular mailing list. Because of limited space on the audio CDs, they will only have the message. The video DVDs have the entire service with the menu options allowing a person to view the message only, if they so desire.

In addition to the regular Sabbath service recordings, a CD set of music for the song book is being worked on by Elder John Fisher and Brother Chris Avalos. We’re hoping to be done by next year’s Feast of Tabernacles.

If you’d like to be added to the Sabbath service mailings, call us toll free at 1-877-642-4101. We will announce when the music CD set is completed and ready for shipping.

What good is it, my brothers, if a man claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save him? Suppose a brother or sister is without clothes and daily food. If one of you says to him, “Go, I wish you well; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about his physical needs, what good is it? In the same way, faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.

                              — James 2:14-17 NIV

Tube.com and Beyond

“Revealing the Truth” videos have been archived, not only on YouTube.com, but also on GospelTube.com and GodTube.com. In fact, it looks like we’re the first Sacred Name group to be on these two religious online video websites. These are proving to be just a couple areas of outreach, but we must look to do more.

There are online radio services in which we are able to have prerecorded services in 24-hour formats for anyone to tune into. This opens the possibility for other avenues, such as shortwave, which could prove to be more accessible for third world countries.

It will all take some time, but as we move forward and gain ground with Yahweh’s help, the message of salvation through Yahshua and the good news of the coming Kingdom will be preached. May we move forward with His Word. May we be found doing His will.

Episodes of Revealing the Truth are now on our YAIY.org website. Feel free to download one today and share with someone you think might be interested. It’s just another way to reach out to your neighbor.
