The Feast of Tabernacles is a time for reflection, besides being part of Yahweh’s overall harvest plan, a harvest of souls, so to speak. In the OT there was a coming out of Egypt by the children of Israel. After they came out they stayed in temporary dwellings or booths. This feast, in part, reminds us of the “Exodus” which took place:

      “Ye shall dwell in booths seven days; all that are Israelites born shall dwell in booths: That your generations may know that I made the children of Israel to dwell in booths, when I brought them out of the land of Egypt: I am Yahweh your Elohim,” Lev 23:42-43.

      Each year Yahweh’s Assembly in Yahshua keeps this weeklong celebration in temporary dwellings such as campers, tents, cabins, etc. by those who have been grafted in and are considered spiritual Israelites, but we welcome all to come and learn as there are messages and Bible studies each day.

      There is plenty of fellowship as well, no doubt just like there was when the Israelites came out of Egypt. Today we come out of the symbolic Egypt called the world and partake of the blessings of keeping this feast.

      Besides the Feast of Tabernacles reminding us of the past, we are reminded of the coming 1000-year reign that the Kingdom brings. In fact, these 7 days that are commanded to be kept Holy are also going to be kept in the Kingdom itself. Notice that those who do not come for this will be punished:

      “And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, YAHWEH of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles. And it shall be, that whoso will not come up of all the families of the earth unto Jerusalem to worship the

King, YAHWEH of hosts, even upon them shall be no rain. And if the family of Egypt go not up, and come not, that have no rain; there shall be the plague, wherewith YAHWEH will smite the heathen that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles. This shall be the punishment of Egypt, and the punishment of all nations that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles.” Zech 14:16-19. See also Ezekiel 45:25.

       Both Yahweh’s Name and the Feast of Tabernacles are mentioned, no less than 3 times, in the verses just quoted. Rest assured, “it shall come to pass.”

       When the final crops of wheat, grains, and fruits had been brought in, just before the Feast of Tabernacles, it brought joy and abundance. It was now time to enjoy it and a closer relation with Yahweh by keeping His harvest feast according to His way, Lev 23:39.

        In the NT you can see that it is called the feast of the “Jews” (John 7:2), but it is because the pharisaical Jews had corrupted Yahweh’s Holy Days.

       Still, even with these Jews wanting to kill Yahshua (John 7:1), He spoke at their gathering:

       “Now about the midst of the feast Yahshua went up into the temple, and taught. And the

Jews marvelled, saying, How knoweth this man letters, having never learned? Yahshua answered them, and said, My doctrine is not mine, but his that sent me. If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of Elohim, or whether I speak of myself. He that speaketh of himself seeketh his own glory: but he that seeketh his glory that sent him, the same is true, and no unrighteousness is in him. Did not Moses give you the law, and yet none of you keepeth the law? Why go ye about to kill me?” John 7:14-19.

      The Pharisees and other teachers had corrupted the law, including the feast days. This was not only in the NT, but the people also did it in the OT, causing Yahweh to say, “I hate, I reject your festivals, Nor do I delight in your solemn assemblies,” Amos 5:21 (NASB). Yahweh did not hate his own Appointed Times, but He did hate what they had turned into; they turned into things that were no longer His.

       The Last Great Day is the end of the Appointed Times in Yahweh’s Harvest Plan. Yahshua Messiah also spoke to the people on this day:

       “In the last day, that great day of the feast, Yahshua stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water,” John 7:37-38.

       In the overall plan we have a last day that symbolizes the great white throne judgment (Rev 20:11-13) for the rest of mankind. It will be the first time for many to hear and be given understanding of why things have been the way they’ve been on the earth.

Seven Annual Appointed Times

Yahweh’s Harvest Plan can be looked at simply by being obedient to Him and to keep the days He tells us to keep:

►Passover: Repentance and acceptance of Yahshua Messiah’s sacrifice for our sins; reconfirming our commitment each year. Not a Holy Day, but indeed an Appointed Time.

►Days of Unleavened Bread: Cleaning leaven (unscriptural teachings or false doctrine, Matt 6:12 ) out of our lives; helping us to be true to the Bible.

►Pentecost:  His Holy Spirit given to remain on earth helping us to walk with Yahshua keeping the law.

Note: the following Feast Days have yet to be completely fulfilled.

►Trumpets: The “Day of Yahweh” ushering in Yahshua’s return as King of kings, and raising a kingdom of priests at the “Last Trump.”

►Atonement: Blood covering of all who are washed in the blood of the Lamb. The banishment of Satan, bringing Yahweh’s people more fully at-one-ment with Him.

►Feast of Tabernacles: Remembering the “Exodus” out of Egypt (Lev 23:43) and looking forward to the reign of Yahshua Messiah on earth. The 1000 year reign; all living Yahweh’s way.

►The Last Great Day: Judgment for the rest of the dead. A first opportunity for many to fully understand Yahweh’s truth and to accept or deny it. It will be the quenching of the spiritual thirst placed upon all mankind without measure, John 7:37.

In Retrospect

     Yahweh has allowed almost 6000 years to pass since the time of Adam and Eve, and it is their sin that has caused the suffering that is seen around the world today.

     Sin demands death the Bible tells us, Rom 6:23. We suffer because of it, as well as do others, but in all of it we see His mercy and a plan that He has. We are learning a lesson that living apart from Yahweh and His way of living doesn’t work.

     Yahweh’s Harvest Plan is like a 7-step plan for success. It’s something you can know and appreciate more fully by getting in step with it. The invitation is open for you to become a firstfruit among many who will eventually be harvested.

      Though this is an overview, there is more to be learned as we prepare to enter the coming Kingdom as Yahshua’s bride. Join us as we move forward into the fields, for we are told the harvest is great, Luke 10:2.

Sign and Seal

The two most ignored commands in the Bible are the sign He has given us and the seal by which we are preserved. Briefly, we find that the “sign” is keeping His Sabbaths:

“Moreover also I gave them my Sabbaths, to be a SIGN between me and them, that they might know that I am Yahweh that sanctify them. (Ezekiel 20:12 )…And hallow my Sabbaths; and they shall be a SIGN between me and you, that you may know that I am YAHWEH your Elohim” (Ezek. 20:20 ).

We are sanctified by keeping His Sabbaths; that is, we are set apart as a special people for His holy purpose. The Sabbaths are a distinct time in which we come to truly known Him and draw closer to Him. The world in general rejects these days, thinking they are free from all such obligations and responsibilities and thereby they miss the opportunities to learn to know Him.

His Sabbaths set us apart from the world. The time spent honoring His Sabbaths enriches our understanding of Him and His ways. What’s more, important and prophetic events likely will occur at these times, which will reveal His very presence.

The seal is His Name: We are sealed with His Name upon baptism (Rev. 14:1) and already carry His Name for we are known as “His wife” (Rev. 19:7), and have prepared and made ourselves ready. The sealing agent is the Holy Spirit: “And grieve not the holy Spirit of Yahweh, whereby you are sealed unto the day of redemption” (Eph. 4:30 ). We are to be baptized into the saving Name of Yahshua, the only Name that has salvation (Acts 4:12 ).
